Becky Johnson and Paul Vincett at ‘Eric’ Premiere 2024 (Netflix Mini Series)
A Love to Create…
“HBO’s The Last of Us
Dream Team!! Paul Vincett and Becky Johnson of the stellar Uk based fabrication company @stitchesandglue attend to the wonderful @adam.basil for vfx scanning on @thelastofus in Calgary, Alberta. The Bloater was a huge undertaking for our department, to create a practical character to interact with the cast and performers and provide as much reference as possible for the the vfx team to take further in post production. A happy marriage of practical and digital effects.”
“The attention to detail and the beauty of construction by the Stitches and Glue team is only matched by their ability to create creatures and puppets that are a gift to performers. Whether it’s on stage or camera I have experienced first hand the quality of their creations. They always produce work which fulfills the design brief and meets the needs of the script. On numerous occasions I have witnessed their work supersede the expectations of producers. They have a passion to create puppets, costumes and props that will move well to showcase great performances and characters. The care, support and artistry they bring to a production is invaluable.”

“What a team! Becky and Paul are extremely talented, very lovely people who are an utter joy to work with.
From the outset they took the time to fully understand my wishes and the brief I gave them. They communicated with me through every stage of the creation process with conversations, 3D images and models and, despite the horribly tight deadline I gave them, they translated my drawings and wishes into the most exquisite puppet. Not only was it visually perfect, it also proved easy to operate and is built so well that I know it will endure much touring. It has already delighted many audiences and will continue to do so. I am planning my next venture with Stitches and Glue and cannot recommend them highly enough.”
“Stitches and Glue, the London-based puppet and creature makers, are the unsung creative force pulling the strings in “Eric.” The Netflix limited series, which explores the ugly underbelly of New York City in the 1980s.
Benedict Cumberbatch plays desperate puppeteer Vincent from “Good Day Sunshine,” who goes on a quest to find his missing 9-year-old son, Edgar (Ivan Howe), with the help of Eric, a 7-foot-tall blue monster inspired by Edgar’s drawings. Stitches and Glue (run by Paul Vincett and Becky Johnson) were responsible for creating all of the puppets for the show. In addition, they made the full-size animatronic Eric, who performed alongside Cumberbatch.”
